Day by day

12 days through the best of the American Southwest.

  • Day 1 — Arriving in Las Vegas

    Welcome meeting in the afternoon with a welcome drink and tour briefing. The rest of the evening is yours. Overnight in Las Vegas.

  • Day 2 — Pick up motorcycles · Las Vegas

    Morning free — visit the Strip or go shopping. Early afternoon motorcycle pickup followed by a warm-up ride along the Las Vegas Boulevard. Overnight in Las Vegas. (~12 miles)

  • Day 3 — Las Vegas → Hoover Dam → Eldorado Goldmine → Laughlin

    First stop: the famous Hoover Dam, then the Eldorado Goldmine at Nelson — known from numerous Hollywood productions. Cruise south to Laughlin on the Arizona border. (~155 miles)

  • Day 4 — Laughlin → Oatman → Seligman → Williams

    Old Route 66 all the way. Through Oatman with its wild burros, Kingman, and Seligman — stop at Angel Delgadillo's legendary barber shop. Arrive in Williams for a country-western evening with live music and great bars. (~190 miles)

  • Day 5 — Williams → Grand Canyon NP → Page

    One hour to the Grand Canyon South Rim. Optional helicopter flight over the canyon. Drive along the South Rim with all its highlights, lunch at the Cameron Trading Post, then through the Navajo and Hopi lands to Page. (~195 miles)

  • Day 6 — Page → Monument Valley → Mexican Hat

    Optional morning helicopter flight to Tower Butte — 360° views of Glen Canyon, Lake Powell, and the Vermillion Cliffs. Then Monument Valley with its iconic rock towers and an optional jeep tour through the valley. Overnight in San Juan/Mexican Hat. (~151 miles)

  • Day 7 — Mexican Hat → Capitol Reef → Torrey

    Visit the famous "Mexican Hat" rock formation, then the Bluff Fort for a look at Western settlement history. One of the most beautiful stretches of the tour: through Glen Canyon NP and Capitol Reef NP. Overnight near Torrey. (~216 miles)

  • Day 8 — Torrey → Escalante Highway → Bryce Canyon NP

    Winding roads along the Escalante Highway to Bryce Canyon. Afternoon exploring the park's unique rock formations glowing in golds and reds. Overnight near Bryce Canyon NP. (~168 miles)

  • Day 9 — Bryce Canyon → Zion NP → Mesquite

    Sunrise at Bryce Canyon is pure magic. Morning ride through beautiful Zion National Park, then back to Nevada via I-15. Overnight in Mesquite. (~168 miles)

  • Day 10 — Mesquite → Valley of Fire → Las Vegas

    Special detour through Valley of Fire State Park — known from TV commercials and movies. Scenic route along Lake Mead back to Las Vegas. Motorcycles returned, transfer to hotel. (~125 miles)

  • Day 11 — Free day in Las Vegas

    Explore Las Vegas at your own pace — themed hotels, historic Downtown, museums, shopping. Your tour guide is a local insider with plenty of tips.

  • Day 12 — End of tour

    Fly home or extend your stay in Las Vegas. Safe travels!

What is the route day by day?

Days 1–2: Las Vegas (arrival, briefing, first ride). Days 3–4: Hoover Dam → Eldorado Mine → Laughlin → Route 66 → Oatman → Kingman → Seligman → Williams. Days 5–6: Grand Canyon South Rim → Cameron Trading Post → Monument Valley. Days 7–9: Glen Canyon → Capitol Reef → Escalante Highway → Bryce Canyon → Zion NP. Days 10–12: Valley of Fire → Lake Mead → Las Vegas (free day, end of tour).

Who is this tour suitable for?

Experienced riders comfortable with 100–200 miles per day over 10 riding days. This is the flagship tour — epic in scope, demanding in distance, unforgettable in reward. Passengers welcome throughout.

What is included in the price?

10 nights in top-rated hotels/motels, motorcycle rental with unlimited mileage, fuel and oil, liability insurance, ZERO Plus damage waiver ($100 deposit), escort vehicle with multilingual guide (EN/DE/GR), helmets, tour maps, photo download, welcome drink, and US BIKE TRAVEL T-shirt per person.

What is NOT included?

Flights, personal meals, travel insurance, national park entry fees (Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Capitol Reef, Glen Canyon: ~$100 per vehicle each — the America the Beautiful Pass at $80/year covers all), optional helicopter flights and jeep tours, and gratuities.

What National Park fees do I need to pay?

National park entry fees are not included. Current fees: Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Capitol Reef, and Glen Canyon each charge approximately $100 per vehicle (7-day pass). The America the Beautiful Annual Pass covers all US national parks — $80 for US residents, $250 for non-US residents. We strongly recommend it if you are visiting multiple parks on this tour. We handle the logistics; you pay on the day.

Do I need a US motorcycle license?

A valid motorcycle license from your home country is generally accepted. International Driving Permits strongly recommended for 12-day international riders. Contact us with your country and we confirm requirements.

What motorcycle will I ride?

Harley-Davidson® Touring Class (Street Glide® or Road Glide®) as standard — ideal for long-distance comfort. Grand Touring Class also available (surcharge applies). Select during booking.

What is the minimum group size?

Minimum 12 participants (drivers and passengers combined). This is a group departure tour.

Are helicopter flights included?

No — helicopter flights over the Grand Canyon or Monument Valley are optional extras. We arrange them on request. Prices vary by provider and season.

Can the program change?

Yes — weather, road conditions, or park closures can require route adjustments. We always find the best alternative. Your safety and experience come first.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

The following cancellation fees apply for the Southwest Explorer and all multi-day guided tours:

  • More than 91 days before departure: 20% of total booking amount
  • 90–61 days before departure: 40% of total booking amount
  • 60–31 days before departure: 75% of total booking amount
  • 30 days or less / no show: 90% of total booking amount

Please notify us as early as possible. Any outstanding cancellation fees will be invoiced via payment link. If a refund is due, it will be returned to the original payment method.
